이날 한미연합군사령부는 캠프 험프리에서 부대 이전 기념식을 개최하고, 평택 기지 공식 이전을 완료했다.

이전식에는 폴 J. 라캐머러 유엔사·연합사·주한미군사 사령관, 안병석 연합사 부사령관, 정장선 평택시장 등을 포함한 국내·외 내빈들이 참석하여 연합사 평택 이전을 축하했다.
평택시는 한미연합군사령부 이전을 통해 해외 미군기지 중 세계 최대 규모인 캠프 험프리스가 위치한 대한민국 안보의 중심지이자, 세계 유일의 연합 부대인 연합사가 근무하는 한미동맹의 핵심 도시로 발돋움할 수 있게 됐다.
정장선 시장은 한미연합군사령부의 평택이전을 진심으로 환영하다고 밝히며, 한미 양국 핵심 전력이 모두 평택으로 모인만큼 시에서도 한미동맹과 한반도의 평화수호를 위하여 주한미군과 연합사가 역할과 임무 수행을 충실히 이행할 수 있도록 다방면으로 적극 지원 및 협조해 나갈 것이라고 말했다.

=우선 연합사 대표하는 의장대원들에게 박수 부탁. 이종섭 국방장관, 내외귀빈 여러분 그리고 연합사 장병 여러분 감사. 오늘 연합사 이전을 축하하기 위해 시간 내줘서 감사. 용산 이전 실무자 했었던 이종섭 장관 더욱 각별한 의미일 것 알아. 연합사 이전 실현되기까지 장관 비전, 리더십 감사. 수년전 심었던 씨앗 감사. 떄론 어떤 움직임이나 환경 변화 없인 진전 이루기 어려워. 대한민국 국민들 감사. 44년간 지지해주셔서 감사. 연합사 주소지는 바뀌었지만. 계절 환경 변화했어도 대한민국 복무하는 자부심은 변함 없어. 국민 보호하는 자부심, 철통같은 한미 유대관계 역시 변화 없어. 무엇보다도 대한민국 미국 뿐만 아니라 가장 소중한 자원인 사람들 돌보면서 전투준비 위기대응 역시 변함 없어. 그리고 변하지도 않을 것. 대한민국 국민 안심시키고 항상 평화 위해 기도. 평화 안보 자유를 위한 애정 강해졌으면 강해졌지 변함 없어. 여러분 사령관으로 복무할 수 있어서 영광. 감사. 같이갑시다.

I know this is an extra special for Minister Lee who started as the project officer of this move. For the staff officers out there, let this be a lesson. Thank you for your vision your leadership and for making this happen.
The seed you plan at all those years ago of grown and blossom, maybe live up to your vision and your expectations. I also want to thank the Korean people for their generosity and hospitality you have supported us for 44 years and counting.
While our address is changed our pledge to the venue and maintain, your trust is forefront in our minds. 감사합니다. It is hard to make progress sometimes when there does not seen to any movement or change in scenery. We mark time with the changing of a calendar or the changing of seasons.
Often times we mark the change in the military with the changing of people or our patches while the scenery season's people and locations may have changed, what has not changed is the pride to serve in the land of the morning calm. The pride in defending a great people and seeing a bright future for our future generations. The iron clad commitment of the United States has not changed, nor has our bond. Our pledged to defend our homelands to strengthen our alliance to build coalitions has not changed. Most important, our focus on preparing for combat being able to responding crisis and win in conflict, all while taking care of our people the most precious resource of the Republic of Korea, the United States and the sending states that have stood with us, for the last 44 years has not changed. And it will not change. And while we work to assure the korean people and to prepare for combat, we pray for peace. Our love of piece freedom and security has not changed. It has only gotten stronger.
